The Governorate’s Drinking Water and Sanitation Company announced DakahliaWater was cut off from a number of villages in the center and city of Gamasa, today, Wednesday, for a period of 7 continuous hours, as part of the implementation of technical works in the main networks to improve service efficiency and control drainage rates.

The company explained, in an official statement, that the outage begins from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., noting that the areas affected by the outage include: the village of Zayan, the local unit in Algeria, the eastern colony, and Qaim al-Abd.
The company added that the reason for the outage is due to the National Authority for Drinking Water and Sanitation in Dakahlia carrying out the work of installing conduction measuring devices for some main lines and networks, which is necessary work to monitor pressures and flow rates, which contributes to raising operating efficiency and improving the level of service provided to citizens during the coming period.
She confirmed that the work and maintenance teams will carry out the work at the specified times, with a commitment to speedy completion and re-pumping water immediately after the completion of the technical work, stressing that these measures come within the ongoing replacement and development plan for the infrastructure of the drinking water sector.
The company appealed to citizens, bakery owners, hospitals, vital facilities, government agencies, and local units to manage their drinking water needs and store the necessary quantities during the outage period, to avoid any effects resulting from the temporary cessation of service.
The company also called on citizens to contact the hotline in the event of any complaints or inquiries during the outage period, confirming that field follow-up will continue until water returns normally to all affected areas.
