Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, appointed Captain Noble essenceassuming the position of Minister of Youth and Sports, succeeding Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, during the new ministerial reshuffle.

Sources revealed to Cairo 24 that Gohar Nabil was appointed Minister of Youth and Sports in the new ministerial reshuffle, succeeding Ashraf Sobhi.
Gohar Nabil was the captain of the Egyptian national team and the Al-Ahly club in handball and was nicknamed “The Joker.” He won the title of best Egyptian player for two consecutive years in 95-96 and 96-97, and the best player in Africa in 98-99, and he was chosen in the World Stars team in 99-2000.
Gohar Nabil won 23 championships with Al-Ahly and 5 championships with the Egyptian national team, including the World Youth Championship and the 1993 World Military Championship. He also served as a member of the Board of Directors of Al-Ahly Club and was entrusted with developing group sports.
After he was chosen on Al-Khatib’s list for membership in the Al-Ahly Club’s over-age board of directors in the 2017 elections, he later announced his withdrawal and attributed the reason to not implementing the club’s established principles.
