Exchange of His Eminence the Grand Imam Dr Ahmed Al-TayebThe Sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, President of the United Arab Emirates, extended their congratulations on the occasion of the approaching month of Ramadan, during a phone call, calling on the Almighty God to return it to the Egyptian and Emirati peoples, and all the peoples of the Islamic and Arab nations and all of humanity with goodness, Yemen, blessings and peace.
During the call, the Sheikh of Al-Azhar congratulated his brother, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, on the global successes achieved by the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity, and its assuming a prestigious position internationally, and being topped by international awards that encourage the spread of human brotherhood and peace globally in a record time, and the award ceremony in Abu Dhabi this year hosting the historic peace initiative between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and honoring The Presidents of the two countries, President Ilham Aliyev, President of Azerbaijan, and Nikol Pashinyan, Prime Minister of Armenia, and honoring the Palestinian “Cooperation” Foundation, which represents support for the will of the Palestinian people and their legitimate steadfastness in the face of the aggression against them, as well as honoring the Afghan activist Zarqa Yaftali, which is an honor that carries with it messages to empower Muslim women in obtaining all their rights, especially the right to education, which can be considered the duty of the times.
For his part, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed thanked His Eminence the Grand Imam Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar, stressing his appreciation for the role played by His Eminence and Al-Azhar in spreading the true Islamic religion, consolidating the culture of brotherhood and peace, and refuting the false images that some try to attribute to Islam, stressing the depth of the scientific and advocacy relations that link the Emirati people with Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and its venerable scholars.
