The government decided to continue implementing the closure decision at eleven until April 27, which is the same date that was scheduled for the end of the closure decision at 9 p.m.

This decision comes before the implementation of store closing times for summer time in 2026, which is scheduled to take effect after the end of winter time, which will continue during the current period until Thursday, April 24.

It was expected that stores would return to their winter closing times after stopping the decision to close stores at 9 p.m., but the government took a proactive decision to extend work until 11 p.m., which are the timings that are scheduled to continue after their end date due to the transition to daylight saving time, unless the government takes another decision.

Daylight saving time begins in Egypt at midnight on Thursday, April 24, when the clock is moved forward by 60 minutes, turning 12 midnight to one in the morning, and the official implementation of daylight saving time begins on the morning of Friday, April 25.

Until April 27, the closing times for new stores in Egypt will continue, with the expectation of announcing the government’s decision regarding summer hours after the official switch to daylight saving time.
