The YouTube platform has added a new option that allows users to completely turn off the Shorts feature on smartphones, as the update has begun arriving in the YouTube application on iOS and Android.

This feature relies on time management tools pre-existing within the app, which allow you to limit the duration of use of Shorts. With the new update, YouTube has added a new option that allows setting the time limit to zero minutes.

The previous minimum was limited to 15 minutes, but the new zero-minute option actually allows Shorts to be completely disabled on the phone. After activating the setting, clicking on the Shorts tab results in a message appearing stating that the user has reached the time limit, which prevents the feature from being opened.

This option can be accessed through the Time management section within the YouTube application settings, then select the Shorts Feed limit and set it to zero minutes to disable the feature.
