New reports indicate that Apple is planning to launch the iPad Air with an OLED screen in 2027, after previous information that appeared last November that spoke of the company’s intention to adopt this technology in the series in the coming years.

According to the report, Samsung Display will supply the OLED panels for the upcoming iPad Air versions, with mass production expected to begin later this year or by January 2027.

Sources from within the industry indicate that Apple may unveil the device in March 2027, which is the same time frame in which it used to announce the iPad Air.

The device is also expected to be based on an LTPS OLED panel, which represents a significant upgrade compared to the LCD screen used in the current generation equipped with the M4 processor, which was launched last March.

Apple currently offers OLED screens only in the iPad Pro series, while rumors indicate that the iPad mini may get an OLED screen later this year. Other reports also talk about the company’s intention to use OLED screens in MacBook Air starting in 2028.
