A new study has raised a large number of concerns about the possibility of dental X-rays causing meningitis when commonly used in excess, according to what was published by the health and me website.

The danger of exposing teeth to X-rays

The results of the new study revealed that dental X-rays may cause cancer or meningitis, raising concerns about their necessity and safety as a result of their excessive use, potential health risks, and financial costs.

What is meningitis?

It is a type of tumor that grows in the membranes covering the brain and spinal cord. A person can develop it as a result of excessive use of full-mouth X-rays, which provide higher radiation doses, and meningioma.

Dental X-rays are performed by emitting a controlled burst of radiation, which passes through the jaw and teeth to create detailed images of their internal structures. However, radiation exposure from dental X-rays is minimal.
