Engineer Ahmed Ibrahim, Vice Chairman of the Authority, said Urban communities Al-Jadeeda for Planning and Projects said that during the past year, the Authority allocated more than 3,300 acres, with areas starting from 300 square meters and reaching larger areas, with the aim of providing small spaces for entrepreneurs and small companies, explaining that these opportunities are offered monthly through the Authority’s official website.
Developing fourth generation cities
He pointed out in press statements that the Egyptian experience in new cities is an extension of more than 40 years of experience in establishing urban complexes, with a focus on developing smart and sustainable fourth-generation cities.
Ibrahim explained that the main goal of these cities is to provide suitable housing far from existing urban blocs, and to transform cities into large, integrated business centers, with flexible planning based on clear stages that develop with actual market demand, adding that smart and sustainable cities aim to improve the quality of life and reduce resource consumption, with a focus on designing infrastructure that reduces dependence on motorized transportation and increases the efficiency of transportation and facilities.
He pointed out that intelligence in building design is not only related to technology, but rather to smart urban design, such as choosing materials that reduce the heat exchange coefficient between the inside and outside of the building, and organizing spaces in a way that improves ventilation and natural lighting, taking into account shade and green spaces to increase comfort for residents, noting that these principles are derived from global experiences such as the work of architect Hassan Fathi, and are gradually applied through mandatory codes and standards within the laws.
