The technical staff of the Zamalek team, led by Ahmed Abdel Raouf, decided to exclude Nabil Imad Dunga, the team’s midfielder, from the team’s trip to South Africa to face Kaizer Chiefs in the second round of the group stage of the African Confederation Championship.

The technical staff’s decision to exclude the player from the match came after confirming the extent of his injury during the Zambian match against ZESCO United, after which he left the field and went to the hospital for the necessary x-rays, which resulted in a tear in the internal ligament of the knee.

Dr. Gerard Owusu Manzanette, head of the medical staff for the first football team at Zamalek Club, revealed the results of the medical examinations and x-rays that midfielder Nabil Imad Donga underwent after the injury he suffered in the Zambian Zesco match that was held yesterday in the Confederation Cup, which was a sprain in the internal ligament of the knee, and he will undergo a rehabilitation and treatment program in the coming period.

Earlier, the Zamalek club’s first football team defeated Zambian club ZESCO with an unanswered goal, in the match that was held between them at Cairo International Stadium in the first round of the group stage matches of the African Confederation Cup, so that the team earned its first 3 points in the group.

Zamalek’s group in the African Confederation Cup includes: Al-Masry of Port Said, Kaizer Chiefs of South Africa, and ZESCO United of Zambia.
