Gigabyte continues to expand its lineup of Tandem OLED displays for the year 2026, as it officially unveiled during its participation in CES 2026 its new MO27Q28GR gaming monitor. This new version is based on the technology of the fourth generation of WOLED panels provided by LG Display, and comes as an upgraded version of the previous model MO27Q28G (which was launched last August), with the fundamental difference that lies in replacing the matte surface with a glossy coating known as RealBlack Glossy finish, which puts it in direct competition with the Asus ROG Strix XG27AQWMG screen as one of the rare options that combines Tandem OLED technology and a 280Hz refresh rate with a glossy surface.

In terms of technical specifications, the screen measures 27 inches and has a display resolution of 1440p (i.e. 2560 x 1440), and features an ultra-fast refresh rate of 280Hz. Thanks to Primary RGB Tandem panel technology, the screen delivers an impressive brightness of up to 1,500 nits in HDR mode (at 1.5% APL), and approximately 335 nits for the full screen (100% APL). It is also DisplayHDR True Black 500 certified and covers 95% of the DCI-P3 color gamut.

The most notable upgrade on this model is the RealBlack Glossy paint; The glossy surface contributes to improving black levels and making colors more vibrant and deeper, especially in bright rooms. This is in contrast to matte panels, which, despite their superiority in dispersing reflections, the black color may appear slightly faded under strong lighting.

In addition to image quality, the Gigabyte MO27Q28GR excels in connectivity options and additional features, as it supports Nvidia G-Sync technology, includes a built-in KVM switch, a USB hub (Hub), and a USB-C port that supports power delivery with a capacity of up to 45 watts. These features are a clear point of superiority compared to its competitor from Asus, which lacks a USB-C port and the KVM feature.

Gigabyte has not yet revealed pricing details or official availability date, but the price is expected to be close to the competing launch price of $599. It is worth noting that this announcement coincided with the company’s unveiling of other OLED screens, such as the ultra-wide MO34WQC36 and the MO32U24 with 4K resolution.
