The Department of Slaughterhouses and Meat Inspection of the Veterinary Medicine Directorate in Beni Suef Governorate continued its intensive monitoring campaigns on shops selling and trading meat and fish, as part of the state’s efforts to preserve the health and safety of citizens, and to ensure the access of safe and healthy food to the people of the governorate.
The campaigns came in implementation of the directives of the Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Alaa El-Din Farouk, and his deputy, Engineer Mustafa Al-Sayyad, and under the patronage of the Governor of Beni Suef, and under the follow-up of Dr. Hamid Musa Al-Aqnas, Chairman of the General Authority for Veterinary Services, and in accordance with the assignments of Dr. Ahmed Al-Jabali, Director General of the Directorate of Veterinary Medicine in Beni Suef, and under the supervision of the Department of Slaughterhouses and Meat Inspection.
The campaigns, which were carried out in coordination with the Supply Investigation Department, were able to arrest a number of violations, as one report was issued for possession of expired salted fish weighing 12 kg in the Al-Wasta Center, in addition to two reports being issued for spoiled fish with a total of 64 kg of frozen fish in Bandar Beni Suef.
The seized items were seized, and the necessary legal measures were taken against the violators.
For his part, Dr. Ahmed Al-Jabali confirmed the continuation of intensive inspection campaigns at the governorate level, while taking immediate and deterrent measures against any violations affecting food security, stressing that all measures must be taken to ensure safe and healthy food for citizens.
