The Ministry of Health and Population, represented by the Central Administration for Non-Governmental Treatment Institutions and Licensing, announced the closure of 7 clinics and centers specializing in cosmetics, dermatology, and laser treatment in Giza and Sohag governorates, for operating without legal licenses and in violation of health requirements.
These measures come in implementation of the directives of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, to intensify oversight of private medical facilities to protect the health and safety of citizens.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry, explained that an expanded campaign carried out by the Free Therapy Department in Giza Governorate, in cooperation with the Drug Authority and the Supply Investigation Department, resulted in the closure of 6 violating clinics and centers, which are: (WOW ME Clinic, Dr. Hossam Fawzy Clinic, Physio Shape Center for Physiotherapy, Barsoum Center for Oncology Treatment, Fakir Dermatology Center, Dr. Maher Mahmoud Dermatology Clinic).
He pointed out that large quantities of drugs of unknown origin were seized inside these facilities, stressing continued coordination with the Drug Authority to examine the seized items and take the necessary legal measures.
For his part, Dr. Hisham Zaki, Head of the Central Administration for Non-Governmental Treatment Institutions and Licensing, stated that the Free Therapy Administration in Sohag closed the “Flora” Cosmetic, Dermatology and Laser Center in the Saqalta Center, because it did not obtain the necessary license, and because it was managed by a student impersonating a dermatologist and cosmetic doctor.
He stressed that all violating facilities were closed and waxed, calling on citizens to verify the facility’s license and the license to practice the profession for those in charge of it before receiving any medical service.
He stressed the continuation of monitoring campaigns to ensure the provision of safe medical services that comply with standards.
