During its participation in the CES 2026 exhibition, OneXPlayer showcased its latest innovations in the field of external graphics units (eGPU), as it announced the OneXGPU 3 device, which represents a qualitative shift compared to previous versions that relied on graphics processors intended for mobile devices, as this version comes equipped with a powerful desktop graphics processor (Desktop GPU) model AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT based on the advanced RDNA 4 architecture, with a power consumption capacity of up to to 180 watts.
This desktop processor, equipped with 16 GB GDDR6 video memory, is considered an excellent choice for high performance in 1440p and 4K games. Thanks to the device’s adoption of the RDNA 4 architecture, users will be able to benefit from FSR 4 technology, which will play an important role in improving the 4K gaming experience. However, the report indicated that the communication interface may constitute a “bottleneck” for performance; The device relies on OCuLink or USB4 ports to connect to the host device.
Although the OCuLink port provides a bandwidth of up to 64 Gbps and is considered the best option compared to USB4, it may cause a performance loss of up to 25% depending on the type of workload, but the availability of two ports remains an advantage that ensures the external graphics unit is compatible with most Mini PCs and handhelds on the market.
The features of the OneXGPU 3 are not limited to graphics only, as it provides practical expansion options that include an M.2 slot that supports PCIe 2.0 SSDs to increase the storage space of the host device, in addition to a variety of ports that include two USB 3.2 Type-A ports, an RJ45 Ethernet port for wired network connection, and a slot for TF cards. The company has not yet revealed the official price or the exact availability date, but it is expected to be launched in the market soon.
