The Indian company Lava launched its economical Bold N2 4G phone in the local market, coming at a price of less than $100 and two color options.

The new phone succeeds the Bold N1 4G model that was unveiled in June of last year, while retaining a large part of the specifications, but it gets an updated design and better protection against external factors.

The phone is based on an octa-core Unisoc SC9863A processor, and is coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, with support for microSD cards to increase space.

In terms of design, Lava updates the shape of the back to become closer to the Bold N1 5G, and also raises the level of water and dust resistance to the IP64 standard instead of IP54 in the previous generation.

The phone includes a 6.75-inch LCD screen with HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate, with relatively thick edges and a waterdrop notch that houses a 5-megapixel front camera. The company places a side fingerprint sensor integrated into the power button.

On the back, Lava provides the phone with a 13-megapixel main camera, along with a second sensor whose function is not specified, with an LED flash.

The company supplies the device with a 5,000 mAh battery, and it runs Android 15 Go straight out of the box. The phone is available in black and white starting February 27.

Lava sets the price of the only 4GB and 64GB variant at INR 7,499, which is equivalent to about $82.
