The Egyptian Football Association is holding a celebration today to honor the four Egyptian referees who were chosen among the final list of referees for the 2026 World Cup.
The Football Association honors a quartet of World Cup referees and hands over FIFA badges to internationals
The meeting will witness the presence of Hani Abu Raida and a number of members of the Football Association’s Board of Directors, who will participate in the activities honoring the quartet, Amin Omar, Mahmoud Abu Al-Rijal, Ahmed Hossam Taha, and Mahmoud Ashour, who will represent Egyptian arbitration in the 2026 World Cup.
On the sidelines of the honoring ceremony, FIFA 2026 badges are scheduled to be handed over to the international referees on the international list of referees for the current year, after each referee was recently given one badge, while the rest of the badges for each referee will be kept to be handed over to him at the ceremony scheduled for today, which will be held at the headquarters of the National Teams Center “Goal Project” in 6th of October City.
The ceremony will be attended by Colombian Oscar Ruiz, Chairman of the Football Association’s Main Referees Committee, and the rest of the committee members, as well as members of the Referees’ Technical Committee.
Earlier, Cairo 24 learned from its sources that it was decided to postpone the meeting of the Football Association’s Board of Directors, which was scheduled to be held tomorrow, Wednesday, for a period of 24 hours.
According to what Cairo 24 learned, it was decided to hold a meeting of the Football Association at noon next Thursday, as a regular meeting and not an emergency one, to discuss the Al-Ahly and Ceramica match crisis.
Mustafa Azzam, Secretary-General of the Football Association, confirmed in television statements yesterday, Monday, with journalist Saif Zaher, that the Football Association will hold a regular meeting on Wednesday to discuss a number of files.
