The upcoming iPhone 18 Pro lineup from Apple has witnessed a successive wave of leaks in recent weeks, however, a new rumor has emerged revealing the battery capacity of the iPhone 18 Pro Max.
The leaker, Digital Chat Station, explained on the Weibo platform that the phone will come with a battery with a capacity of 5,000 mAh or a little more in the version designated for the Chinese market.
On the other hand, the global versions are expected to get a relatively larger battery, with a capacity ranging between 5100 and 5200 mAh.
The leaker indicated that the improvement in battery life will not only depend on capacity, but will also benefit from the new A20 Pro processor built with 2nm technology, which is supposed to provide higher energy efficiency than previous generations.
The difference in battery capacity between the Chinese and international versions is due to the Chinese version relying on a physical SIM card, while most international versions only have an eSIM card.

For comparison, the iPhone 17 Pro Max version equipped with a physical SIM came with a battery capacity of 4832 mAh, while the eSIM version got a larger battery with a capacity of 5088 mAh.
Apple is expected to officially unveil the iPhone 18 Pro series during next September, with reports indicating that it will skip the launch of the regular iPhone 18 model, in a move that is a striking departure from the company’s usual launch strategy.
