Facebook Messenger with a new design and features for iOS
Facebook announced today that it has begun rolling out a “faster, smaller, simpler” version of its popular Messenger app on iOS. Facebook spokespeople say the new version of the app will load twice as fast and the beta should be updated “within the next few weeks.”
In a Facebook post, CEO Mark Zuckerberg said that once you get the new version, Messenger should be “faster and more responsive compared to other apps you use.” If the application changes and becomes faster, as Facebook promised.
If you open the application several times a day to chat with friends, every second you use the new application in chat you will feel better, and Facebook said in a post that it has completely rewritten the database of the new Messenger application.
Facebook says that with the new, simpler design, “some features will be temporarily unavailable,” but the company did not specify which features will be removed from the new app. But she confirmed that this redesign is coming, and that one of the changes will be the removal of the Discover tab, which shows you chatbots, in addition to the tab that shows “Instant Games,” and it seems that they will be removed from the application with this new design.
Facebook said it is working to bring back some of the removed features “soon,” but did not provide a timeline for doing so. The company did not respond to a request for comment about the features that were removed or when the app might return to beta.
Facebook announced the redesign of Messenger in May 2018. The company also pledged that the redesign would make the application simpler, smoother, and faster.
