Today, Instagram announced the ability to see and control the reel algorithm for the first time. When you click on the icon that contains two lines with hearts inside it at the top right of the screen, you will see a list showing the topics that Instagram thinks you are interested in.
From there, you can select the topics you want to see more or less, and your filters will automatically adapt based on your preferences.
You can also share your interest list (generated by Instagram’s algorithm) on your Story, so your friends and followers know what your account really reflects.
The company explains that the ability to view and modify the algorithm will later expand to include the Explore tab, in addition to other places in the application soon.
The feature of controlling reel clip nominations has begun to appear today in the United States, and will be available globally in English in the coming period.
