Engineer Hassan Al-Qat, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Supply in Qena, explained that the Supply Control men were able to thwart an attempt to smuggle a quantity of diesel amounting to 6,000 liters that was loaded on board a “Fintas” transport vehicle in preparation for its illegal transportation and distribution.

He added that careful inventory work and a review of the incoming and outgoing records inside the station revealed that those responsible had disposed of another quantity of 10,000 liters of diesel and sold it on the black market without recording it in the official records, bringing the total quantity that had been tampered with to 16,000 liters of diesel.

He pointed out that the campaign seized the Al-Fintas car and its cargo, and the necessary reports were prepared and the entire incident was referred to the competent authorities to take deterrent legal measures against the owners of the station and the violators.
