Conflicting rumors about the future of the iPhone Air 2 have not stopped recently. Between talk of unspecified postponements and constant changes in the schedule, the scene remains blurry. However, a new leak has reignited the debate, indicating that the second generation may be closer than many expected.
According to leaker Fixed Focus Digital via Weibo, Apple plans to unveil the iPhone Air 2 during its upcoming fall event, which is usually held in early September.
This leak contradicts recent reports from The Information; The same entity first reported that Apple had notified engineers and suppliers to remove the upcoming iPhone Air from the schedule without specifying a new date for its launch.
Just one day later, The Information published another report that explained that some Apple engineers hope to release a redesigned version with a second camera lens in the spring of 2027, coinciding with the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e launch plans at that time.
In parallel with its expectations about the iPhone Air 2, Fixed Focus Digital repeated previous confirmations indicating that the iPhone 17e may enter the debut stage in the spring of next year, which is the usual date for Apple’s spring event in March.

According to what the leak stated, it seems that Apple aims to address the most prominent criticisms that affected the first generation of iPhone Air. The company has redesigned the phone again, and is considering adding a second camera while reducing the price, according to The Information.
As for the iPhone 17e, reports indicate that it will carry slight improvements compared to the iPhone 16e. Most notable is the use of the C1X modem, and the return of the glass back that supports magnetic wireless charging, one of the features most missing from the 16e model.
While Apple is preparing to redraw the features of the Air lineup and develop the E series, the final details remain hostage to the company’s official announcement, making the coming months a focus of waiting and anticipation for iPhone fans.
