These days, we are witnessing a significant growth in the use of communication and chat applications to make voice and video calls, and WhatsApp, the most famous and largest application, is testing the possibility of allowing more than four people to communicate together within the same group conversation, by voice and video, or by voice only.
A new beta version of WhatsApp bearing the number v2.2.128 has appeared, showing some changes, including that the voice call screen shows that this call is encrypted. The sources also report that they are testing allowing more than 4 people to communicate together, and this is the current limit for the maximum number that can chat by voice and video within a conversation.
This development of WhatsApp has become a necessity, as the application, which has more than two billion users, has begun to face competition from other applications, whether from large companies such as Google and Microsoft, or smaller companies such as Zoom, which allows larger numbers to communicate with each other via voice and/or video at the same moment.
Currently, the test is available on a limited scale, and the maximum number that a single call can support has not yet been determined, and all participants in the call must have the same version. Of course, such features consume huge resources, so Facebook must be prepared for them before officially launching them to all its users.
