become Zamalek Club One of the most prominent African clubs affected by the suspension sanctions imposed by FIFA, after it registered 11 cases, equal to the Congolese club Motema Pembe, while the Libyan Pyrenees Club came in third place with 9 cases, according to the official website of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA).

These sanctions come in light of the escalating financial crisis that Zamalek is suffering from, including the dues of former players, coaches, and clubs, which prompted FIFA to stop registering new players until the issues are resolved and the late dues are settled.

Among the most prominent cases is the case of Senegalese Ibrahima Ndiaye, with dues amounting to $1.6 million, in addition to the dues of former players such as Ferjani Sassi, Jose Gomez and Christian Gross, and clubs such as Charleroi of Belgium and Estrela da Amadora of Portugal.

While there are other cases in which the registration has not yet been suspended, such as the dues of the Polish player Michalak, Abdel Hamid Maali, and the player Salah Mosaddeq.

The total number of cases amounts to about $3,867,600, equivalent to about 183 million pounds, which demonstrates the extent of the great financial pressure on the club’s management, which needs urgent solutions to avoid more suspensions and penalties during the coming period.

The Board of Directors of Zamalek Club, headed by Hussein Labib, is suffering from a severe financial crisis, which has led to the accumulation of debts and the failure to pay the required dues, whether for former players and coaches, or current players, in light of the delay in disbursing their financial dues.
