A trend prevails within the club Zamalekspecifically in the football sector, to hold a closed camp for the first team during the coming period, following the completion of the match between Al-Masry and Port Said in the Egyptian Capital Cup, which is scheduled to be held next Thursday.

Cairo 24 learned from its sources that John Edward, the sporting director of the Zamalek club, is seriously considering entering a closed camp for several days, in preparation for facing Al-Masry Al-Port Said in the third round of the group stage of the African Confederation Cup, which is scheduled for January 25th at Burj Al-Arab Stadium.

The source added that the idea of the closed camp comes within the framework of the football sector’s efforts to calm the situation within the team and reunite the players, especially in light of the return of internationals after the end of their participation with their teams, in addition to the approaching readiness of a number of injured players, which gives the technical staff the opportunity to work with all the team members.

The source explained that the sports director will make the final decision regarding the camp within the next few days, given that there is sufficient time for preparation, especially after the postponement of the Enppi match in the Premier League, due to the Egyptian national team reaching the semi-finals of the African Cup of Nations, which allowed more time for technical and physical preparation before the next confrontation.

Zamalek occupies second place in its group with 4 points, in the group that includes Al-Masry Club of Port Said, Kaizer Chiefs of South Africa, and Zambian ZESCO United, after achieving a win over ZESCO United with an unanswered goal, then a draw with Kaizer Chiefs with a goal for each team.
