Zamalek’s first football team achieved a new record at the African level, after qualifying for the Confederation Cup final at the expense of Algeria’s CS Belouizdad.
The White Knight settled for a goalless draw against CS Belouizdad, in the second leg of the Confederation Cup semi-final, to qualify for the final, taking advantage of the advantage of winning away from home in the first leg.
Zamalek achieves a new record after qualifying for the Confederation Cup final
Zamalek qualified for the Confederation Cup final for the third time in its history, and the eleventh final in the African Championships in general, after counting the Champions League.
The White Knight became the second club to reach the African finals (the African Champions League and the Confederation Cup), ending the partnership with Congolese Mazembe, which fell to third place with 10 finals.
Zamalek continued to chase Al-Ahly, in the list of teams that have reached the most African finals, which is led by the Red Giants with 18 finals, with 17 finals in the African Champions League, and one final in the Confederation Cup.
Esperance of Tunisia comes in fifth place on the list of African teams that have reached the most finals, with 9 finals, followed by the Moroccan duo Wydad and Raja, with 6 finals.
Zamalek’s competitor in the Confederation Final
Zamalek awaits the winner of the match Olympique Safi of Morocco and USM Algiers of Algeria, to meet in the final of the African Confederation Cup, where the semi-final second leg between the two teams is scheduled to take place tomorrow evening, Sunday.
The White Knight is seeking to achieve the third Confederation title in its history, after winning the cup in 2019 and 2024.
