The Cairo Drinking Water Company announced the cutting off of water to the entire Zamalek area, as part of its ongoing efforts to improve service efficiency andNetwork development; Extensive replacement and renovation work is scheduled for the old drinking water lines in the area.

The company said, in a statement: This measure comes to ensure continuity of service with high quality and reduce loss rates, stressing that the outage will begin at one o’clock in the morning on Saturday, January 3, 2026, and will continue until six o’clock in the morning of the same day, for a period of up to five continuous hours.

Cutting off water from the entire Zamalek area

The company confirmed that it has harnessed all its technical and logistical capabilities, including engineers, technicians and workers, in addition to the latest necessary equipment, to ensure the rapid completion of replacement and renovation work as soon as possible and the return of water pumping to citizens immediately upon completion of the task.

This step comes within the company’s comprehensive plan to modernize the infrastructure of water networks in various neighborhoods of Cairo for the year 2026, in line with the urban renaissance taking place in the capital and ensuring the provision of the best services to the public of subscribers.

Providing free water trucks to affected areas

For its part, the Cairo Drinking Water Company directed instructions to send in trucks of potable water to distribute it for free in various streets of the Zamalek area during the outage period, in order to meet the needs of citizens and vital facilities. The company called on residents, bakery owners and hospitals to manage their water needs during that period, stressing that emergency teams will be on maximum alert until ensuring that water reaches its full capacity to all properties affected by the renovation work.

The company has allocated direct communication channels with the public in the event of requesting water trucks or inquiring about when the service will return, by calling the hotline (125), or via the “WhatsApp” service on the designated number (01006665125). The company confirmed its full commitment to the announced timetable, expressing its appreciation for the cooperation of the residents of the Zamalek region in order to develop the vital facility and achieve the maximum efficiency in distributing drinking water in the region.
