Dr. Ibrahim Saber, Governor of Cairo, made an extensive inspection tour of the Maadi area to follow up on the ongoing development work, within the framework of the conservation plan to preserve the heritage character of areas of architectural and cultural value, and improve the quality of life for citizens in cooperation with civil society.

During the tour, the governor was accompanied by Engineer Ashraf Mansour, Deputy Governor for the Southern Region, representatives of the Sarayat Al-Maadi Occupants Union, and a number of governorate leaders, where the implementation rates in projects to raise street efficiency, develop green areas, improve the public lighting system, organize advertisements, in addition to removing illegal occupancies and cafes, and preserving buildings with a distinguished architectural style, were reviewed.
The Governor of Cairo stressed that Maadi is considered one of the most important heritage areas in the capital, stressing the need to achieve a balance between urban development and preserving the historical identity of the region, which contributes to creating a sustainable civilized environment that takes into account the environmental, cultural, and aesthetic dimensions.
The governor appreciated the vital role of civil society, represented by civil society associations, the Union of Occupiers and Businessmen, in supporting the governorate’s efforts and implementing community initiatives aimed at improving services and raising the standard of living for citizens, while preserving Cairo’s cultural heritage.
This tour comes within the framework of Cairo Governorate’s keenness to strengthen partnership with civil society to achieve integrated and sustainable development that reflects the civilized face of the capital and supports its historical and cultural status.
