The Public Prosecution conducted an inspection of a number of geographic correction centers and police departments and stations in a number of governorates of the Republic, in light of the directives of the Attorney General, Counselor Mohamed Shawqi, to periodically inspect geographical correction centers and police departments and stations in various parts of the Republic.

During the months of last January and this February, the Public Prosecutor assigned teams of members of the Public Prosecution to move to inspect and inspect geographical reform centers and police departments and stations in Tahta, Ras Ghareb Al-Arab and the suburbs, Ismailia 3rd, Tor Sinai, Faisal, Gerga, Badari Centre, Assiut Centre, Qurna Centre, Naga Hammadi Centre, Minya Centre, Damietta Centre, Talkha Centre, Faqous Centre, Zagazig Centre, Belqas Centre, Gerga Centre.
Members of the Public Prosecution began inspection missions, examining living conditions inside places of detention, following up on aspects of care provided to inmates, as well as listening to a number of them, in order to determine their needs.
The teams conducted a first visit, followed by a second visit, which resulted in correcting most of the observations that were detected during the inspection work, while the follow-up of the remaining observations continues in light of the recommendations issued in this regard, provided that the sections that still contain some observations will be re-visited, to verify that they have been eliminated.
The Public Prosecution will continue to inspect police departments and stations and visit places of correction and community rehabilitation, in implementation of its role in preserving and protecting rights and freedoms, and in carrying out its duty to supervise the places where criminal sentences are implemented, as guaranteed by the Constitution and the law. It will also monitor and follow up on any complaints received in this regard.
