Follow Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, President cabinetIn a meeting held today, the status of business development in the new urban settlement on Warraq Island was discussed, in the presence of Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, Major General Mohamed Magdy Abu Shumaila, Director of Giza Security, Engineer Ahmed Omran, Vice President of the New Urban Communities Authority for the Utilities Sector, Engineer Osama Shawqi, Head of the New Warraq City Development Authority, and a number of concerned officials.

Dr. Mustafa Madbouly stressed that this meeting comes within the framework of permanent follow-up of the business situation in this project, which is receiving attention, and pushing the implementation rates of its various components, in an effort to achieve the project’s goals in achieving the desired civilizational shift in this region, and maximizing its economic, tourism and social value.

The Prime Minister stressed the utmost importance of completing work on the development projects taking place inside Warraq Island. In light of the planned plans and time programs, in addition to decisively confronting all attempts at encroachment or random construction within the island.

Counselor Muhammad Al-Homsani, the official spokesman for the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, stated that the meeting witnessed a review of the executive position of the various ongoing works in the new urban community project on Warraq Island, where the current position of disbursing the compensation due to the people of Warraq Island was discussed, according to the alternatives proposed, in addition to the position of implementing various utility works, as well as the position of implementing housing projects within the project within the urgent phase, which witnesses the implementation of about 94 towers with a total of 4092 housing units, in addition to various services, including a service center and an education school. Primary and secondary schools, a youth centre, a commercial centre, a nursery, and a family medicine unit.

The official spokesman added that the meeting also discussed planning and design steps to implement the directive for establishing a tourist promenade on the Nile Corniche in the new urban settlement on Warraq Island, as well as creating a distinctive central park in this urban settlement, as part of the state’s drive to create an outlet and a park for the people and visitors to this area.
