Ashraf Qassem, the former Egyptian football star, spoke about the desire of Amr El-Soulia, the captain of the Egyptian national team, to take the second penalty kick during the Kuwait match after missing the penalty kick in the first half.
Qassem said during his hosting of the program “Ya Masa Al-Anwar” with the journalist Medhat Shalaby on MBC Misr 2: “Amr Al-Sulayya is one of the great players, and he wanted to make up for the strike he missed in the first half.”
He added: “But there must be a prior arrangement by the technical staff to determine who will take the kicks, and this is what actually happened.”
He continued: “This situation can cause tension for the player who will be shooting, and we saw this during Afsha’s penalty kick, as there was some tension during the execution of the kick.”
