Belarusian President Alexander arrived Lukashenko To Algeria on an official visit, the first of its kind at a high level in the history of relations between the two countries, he was received by the Speaker of the Algerian National Assembly, Azouz Nasseri.

According to what was published by the Belarusian News Agency, Lukashenko and Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune will hold expanded negotiations, with a focus on strengthening trade and economic cooperation and implementing bilateral projects of mutual benefit, as plans have been made to discuss prospects for the supply of machinery, vehicles and equipment, prospects for cooperation in the field of manufacturing, and interaction in the sectors of agribusiness, healthcare, education and humanitarian affairs between Belarus and Algeria.

As a result of negotiations between national leaders and the visit as a whole, bilateral documents will be signed to strengthen cooperation in various fields, according to the agency.

Cooperation between Belarus and Algeria

The agency stated that Algeria is the fourth country visited by the Belarusian President as part of a wide-ranging working tour that includes various countries, as Alexander Lukashenko arrived in Algeria coming from Oman, where he was on a working visit, and before Oman, Lukashenko visited Myanmar and Kyrgyzstan.

A bilateral business forum was held before Alexander Lukashenko’s visit to Algeria, and the forum included more than 100 representatives of ministries, companies and organizations from both sides, where multiple meetings and negotiations were held at various levels.

Speaking to reporters in Algeria, Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov stated that he has high hopes for the upcoming visit, and that the prospects for cooperation look very promising. The discussion was not limited to opportunities to expand cooperation in trade and supply of goods, but also included joint manufacturing of products, with a focus on the markets of other African countries, and Algerian territory can become a major center for the promotion of Belarusian products on the African continent.
