The Ministry of Interior responded to the video of Azzam’s condition with a statement that said: In the context of revealing the circumstances of a video clip that was circulated on social media sites in which a woman candidate for the House of Representatives elections claimed that there were violations in one of the electoral districts in Cairo, examination revealed that the truth of the incident was that disagreements had occurred between the supporters of the aforementioned candidate and another candidate in front of one of the electoral districts in Cairo. The situation was contained at the time and both parties were taken to the relevant police department to take legal measures against them, and this did not affect the conduct of the electoral process.
Video by Ahmed Bilal Al-Burlesi
Candidate Ahmed Bilal Al-Burlusi posted a video clip on his personal page on the social networking site Facebook, in which he claimed that there were some supporters of the candidates distributing money to voters to attract them and obtain their votes.
The Ministry of the Interior responded to the Al-Burlusi clip with a statement that said: In the context of uncovering the circumstances of a video clip that was circulated on social media sites, it included that one of the candidates was harmed by the supporters of another candidate distributing sums of money to citizens in the district of the Third Police Department of Mahalla in Gharbiya, to push them to vote for him. Upon examination, it was revealed that the truth of the incident is that the security services concerned with securing one of the electoral districts in the city of Mahalla monitored two incidents of bypassing and arresting those in charge of them, who are 3 people and a woman, residing in the district of the Third Police Station of Mahalla, in one of the garages. And on one of the streets around one of the electoral districts in the city of Mahalla, they collected a number of citizens’ national ID cards and possessed sums of money in preparation for distributing it to them to vote for 2 candidates.
The incident of vote buying in the red corner
to publish One of the personal accounts on social media included a claim by a candidate for the House of Representatives that the security services arrested two people in front of the Red Zawya district for buying voters’ votes for another candidate in Cairo.
The Ministry of Interior responded to this incident with a statement in which it said: Upon examination, it was revealed that the truth of the incident was that a report had been received by the Zawya El Hamra Police Department in Cairo that there was a quarrel in front of one of the electoral districts in the department’s constituency between one party, the brother of the candidate shown in the video clip, and a second party, two employees, one of whom had abrasions on the body, due to disagreements between them during which they assaulted each other by beating each other, which led to the injury of one of them. They were arrested and confronted, and they exchanged accusations among themselves. Legal measures were taken, and the competent investigative authorities took over their work.
A woman’s call for help in Ain Shams
The security services also monitored a woman’s call for help for attacking her brother, the son of a candidate’s uncle, as the video clip referred to included the feeling of citizens to come out to cast their votes in the elections in order to witness a group of people paying sums of money to citizens in order to elect a specific candidate.
The Ministry of Interior issued a statement regarding the incident, which said: As part of revealing the circumstances of a video clip that was circulated on social networking sites, in which a woman claimed that her brother, “the cousin of one of the candidates for the House of Representatives,” was arrested in the Ain Shams area in Cairo.
Upon examination, it was found that 4 employees of one of the charitable societies located in the department’s district were reported to the Ain Shams Police Department “suffering from various bruises and abrasions” that they were harmed by (a supporter of a candidate for the House of Representatives – a resident of the department’s district) assaulting them and causing damage to the contents of the association. The perpetrator of the incident was arrested and, when confronted, he confessed to committing it, thinking that the association was affiliated with one of the competing candidates.
Throwing an incendiary substance into a waiting area inside an electoral committee in Dakahlia
In another incident, the security services monitored a video of an incendiary substance being thrown into a waiting area inside an electoral committee in Nabra al-Dakahlia. The video included a person throwing an incendiary substance and trying to escape by jumping from the top of the fence.
For its part, the Ministry of Interior issued a statement regarding what was stated in the incident: As part of revealing the circumstances of a video clip that was circulated on social media sites, it included a person throwing a bottle containing a burning substance inside the waiting areas at the headquarters of one of the electoral committees in the Nabarwa Police Station district in Dakahlia.
It was possible to identify and arrest the perpetrator of the incident, a resident of the center’s district, and it was found that he was psychologically shaken and known for his psychological disturbance among the people in his area of residence. When asking about his eligibility, they reported that he was suffering from psychological illnesses and had previously been detained in a psychiatric hospital. They provided evidence of this, and legal measures were taken.
A candidate was harmed by the distribution of voter guidance cards at the Dar Al Salam Committee in Cairo
As for the circulation of a video that includes a candidate being harmed by the distribution of voter guidance cards in the Dar El Salam Committee competition, Khaled Abdel Aziz published a video clip from inside Al-Farouk 2 School in District 17 of the presence of election cards for specific candidates, namely Nos. 1, 2, and 7 in Dar El Salam in Cairo.

Upon examination, it was revealed that the truth of the incident was the receipt of a report to the Dar es Salaam Police Department in the Cairo Security Directorate from one of the candidates in the House of Representatives elections that he had been harmed by another candidate for directing citizens to cast their votes in his favor and distributing identification cards for him to them. Later, the other candidate came to the station and reported that he was harmed by the informant for broadcasting the video clip referred to, and accused him of directing voters not to vote in his favor. Legal measures were taken, and the competent investigation authorities took over their work into the incident.
Candidate’s claim of disrupting voting in Helwan
In another incident, a candidate claimed to disrupt voting in Helwan, Cairo. Before being deleted by its publisher, the post included an allegation of attempts to disrupt citizens’ votes for committees in District 19.
Regarding the incident, the Ministry of Interior said: As part of revealing the circumstances of a video clip that was circulated on a social media page, during which one of the House of Representatives candidates claimed that there were attempts to obstruct citizens from casting their votes in one of the electoral districts in Helwan, Cairo.
Upon examination, it became clear that the truth of the incident was that a report had been received by the security services in the Cairo Security Directorate from two people residing in the Helwan Police Department that they had been harmed by the person in charge of the publication who insulted them while they were casting their votes in their electoral district because they refused to cast their votes in his favor, and legal measures were taken.
Arresting supporters of candidates to guide voters in one of Cairo’s constituencies
In another incident, which was not circulated, but was a personal effort by the insurance services, it included the arrest of supporters of candidates directing voters in one of Cairo’s constituencies.
The Ministry of the Interior said in the incident: As part of monitoring the progress of the electoral process, the security services responsible for securing one of the electoral districts in Cairo were able to arrest two people residing in the Qalyubia Governorate in one of the streets surrounding the committee, in possession of a number of electoral propaganda cards for one of the candidates to be distributed to citizens if they frequented their electoral districts to vote for the candidates. Supporters of a candidate were arrested for distributing sums of money in Qatour constituencies in Gharbia

The Ministry of the Interior said in the incident: As part of following up on the progress of the electoral process, the security services responsible for securing one of the electoral districts in the Qatour Center in Gharbia Governorate were able to arrest 4 people in the vicinity of the district in possession of sums of money in preparation for distributing them to citizens if they frequented their electoral districts to vote for one of the candidates. Legal measures were taken, and the investigation authorities took over their work.
Alleged vote-buying in Cairo
In another incident, monitored by the Cairo Security Directorate on an account in the name of Hassan Ragab before it was deleted, it included an allegation of buying voters’ votes.
The Ministry of Interior said in the incident: In the context of uncovering the circumstances of a video clip that was circulated on social media sites, it included a person’s claim that there were violations during the electoral process and the claim that he saw one of the candidates buying voters’ votes in Cairo.
Through examination, it was possible to identify and arrest the person responsible for publishing the video clip referred to (a worker, residing in Cairo), and when confronted, he admitted to publishing the video clip referred to, contrary to the truth, on his page on social networking sites, with the aim of increasing viewership rates and achieving financial profits.
Legal measures were taken, and the competent investigation authorities began their work.
