Calling the artist Yusra The great director Daoud Abdel Sayed, after his departure from our world this morning after a struggle with illness.
Yousra wrote on her official Instagram account: To God we belong and to Him we shall return. Goodbye, Daoud Abdel Sayed is not only a great director, but a friend of ten, and a warm human presence. Being with you was art, and friendship was sincerity, just like your films… Without faking it, I will still think of you with your laughter, your stories, and the human being before the artist… May God have mercy on you, the friend before the creator, and a good relationship never dies.
The Syndicate of Cinematic Professions mourned director Daoud Abdel Sayed, and the union’s statement said: The head of the Syndicate of Cinematographers and members of the Board of Directors of the Syndicate of Cinematic Professions mourn our colleague, the distinguished director Daoud Abdel Sayed. We share your sorrows with this painful affliction, asking God, Lord of all, to cover the deceased with his abundant mercy and to inspire us and the artistic family with beautiful patience and solace.
For its part, the family of the great director Daoud Abdel Sayed will receive his condolences next Monday, at six o’clock in the evening, in St. Mark’s Church in Heliopolis, in Youssef El Naggar Hall.
The death of director Daoud Abdel Sayed
The distinguished director Daoud Abdel Sayed was born in Cairo Governorate on November 23, 1946. He joined the Higher Institute of Cinema and studied film directing. Daoud Abdel Sayed graduated from the institute in 1967. He began his artistic work as an assistant director to a large number of senior directors, led by international director Youssef Shaheen.
