Dr. Maya Morsi, Minister of Social Solidarity, Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development and Acting Minister of the Environment, and Engineer Adel Al-Najjar, Governor of Giza, inaugurated the new service complex in Rawdat Al-Soudan Residences in the Dokki neighborhood, in cooperation with the Urban Development Fund, in the presence of Engineer Khaled Siddiq, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Urban Development Fund, Dr. Hind Eid Al-Halim, Deputy Governor of Giza, and Professor Mustafa Zamzam, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the “Sanaa Al-Khair Foundation for Development.”
The Rawdat Al-Sudan area is one of the prominent urban projects implemented by the Giza Governorate in cooperation with the Urban Development Fund. It was transformed from an unsafe area into a civilized residential complex with full services, as part of the state’s efforts to upgrade unplanned areas, provide a decent life for its residents, and improve the standard of living.


The Ministers of Social Solidarity and Local Development and the Governor of Giza inspected the complex, which includes a number of integrated services, including a nursery, a social solidarity unit, a medical center, and a Estidama Center for Business and Handicrafts, as a grant provided by the Urban Development Fund within the framework of supporting developed urban communities.
Dr. Maya Morsi, Minister of Social Solidarity, praised the services provided within the Urban Residential Complex, stressing that this embodies cooperation and partnership between the various sectors of the state, including the government and civil society, as well as the private sector, as everyone aims to improve the services provided to citizens.

The Minister of Social Solidarity confirmed that the opening of a nursery within the complex comes within the framework of presidential directives supporting the development of the early childhood system as one of the most important pillars of building the Egyptian person and developing human capital, as the Ministry’s efforts are expanding towards expanding the availability of nursery services in the various governorates of the Republic.
Dr. Maya Morsi indicated that the opening of Sustainability for Business and Handicrafts, affiliated with the Sonaa Al Khair Foundation, comes within the framework of the ongoing partnership and cooperation between the Ministry and civil society institutions in the interest of handicraft products.

For her part, Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development, indicated the government’s keenness to upgrade unplanned and unsafe areas, provide a decent life for citizens, and improve their standard of living, noting that the opening of the new service complex in Rawdat Al Sudan Residences comes within the framework of the government’s efforts to implement the mandates of the political leadership to develop the services provided to citizens and raise their efficiency, in a way that provides them with a better life and quality in providing basic services.
The Minister of Local Development added that the new complex represents an integrated model of the services that citizens need in that region, as it includes a group of service sectors and departments that affect the lives of citizens, including children, youth, and the elderly.
Dr. Manal Awad explained that the Ministry of Local Development is working in cooperation with the ministries, concerned authorities and governorates to disseminate this good model in a number of residential areas and communities, especially those with large and unplanned population densities, and to transform them into decent areas in various governorates.
For his part, Engineer Adel Al-Najjar, Governor of Giza, confirmed that the new service complex comes in implementation of the directives of the political leadership to improve the developed areas and provide integrated services to citizens in a civilized environment worthy of them, noting that the governorate is working with a balanced plan to ensure the sustainability of service projects and improve the quality of life within the developed areas.
The governor said that the Rawdat al-Sudan area is a successful model of state interventions in developing unsafe areas and transforming them into fully-serviced urban communities, pointing out that the governorate is constantly monitoring the needs of the people and working to provide educational, medical, social, and recreational services within the area.
Al-Najjar added that the opening of the Family Medicine Center, Child Nursery, Social Solidarity Unit, and Estidama Center for Crafts reflects the governorate’s keenness to diversify services and provide them within one framework that makes it easy for citizens to obtain them without movement or hardship, stressing that these projects will contribute to creating job opportunities, strengthening the role of women, and improving the level of health and educational services.
The governor indicated that the next phase will witness the strengthening of community development programs within the developed areas, with the expansion of training centers and support for handicrafts, with the aim of empowering families economically and raising the efficiency of human resources within the local community.
