The Ministers of Agriculture and Supply and the head of the Egyptian Future Agency are discussing with the Poultry Federation to stimulate local production

The Union delegation included Engineer Mahmoud Al-Anani, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Union of Poultry Producers, and Anwar Al-Abd, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, as well as some of the major investors in this field, including Sherif Sabq and Ziad Montaser.

The two ministers and the head of the Egyptian Future Agency confirmed that this comes within the framework of the Egyptian state’s efforts towards enhancing local production, ensuring sustainability, and protecting the national economy from the fluctuations of global markets.

They stressed the Egyptian state’s keenness to preserve the national industry, in which the volume of investment amounts to 200 billion pounds, and which accommodates about 3.6 million workers, to produce approximately 1.6 billion chickens and 16 billion table eggs.

They pointed out the importance of controlling market prices in line with the cost of production and at the same time achieving the interest of the consumer, so that poultry products and table eggs are provided at reasonable prices to citizens, especially with the approaching month of Ramadan and the increased demand for purchasing poultry products and table eggs.

The meeting discussed plans to supply national products to the Egyptian Future Agency for Sustainable Development, and stressed the interest of the agency’s unified purchasing department that the product obtained be of Egyptian origin at fair and moderate prices, ensuring the provision of a high-quality local product at an appropriate cost.

During the meeting, the efforts made by the Egyptian Future Agency for Sustainable Development were also reviewed in strengthening the poultry industry through specific projects that support the production of veterinary serums and vaccines and providing breeds of chicks that are highly resistant to weather conditions in a way that reduces waste and increases production efficiency. This effort is complemented by the agency’s role in increasing supply and stabilizing prices through a network of Super Savings outlets that exceed 1,300 outlets nationwide, to provide high-quality food products at fair prices to citizens.

The meeting also discussed, within the framework of the comprehensive plan, the necessary measures to pump large quantities of poultry and table eggs into agricultural and supply outlets and Egypt Future Agency outlets in preparation for the month of Ramadan, which is a direct result of efforts to support increased local production and control prices.

The attendees agreed to stimulate and increase production through investors, with the aim of increasing production capacity and covering the needs of the local market on an ongoing and sustainable basis.
