This morning, Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, made a surprise visit to a number of schools in Damietta Governorate, in order to follow up on the progress of the educational process and discipline within the schools and to ensure the regularity of studies at the various educational levels.

The Minister was accompanied during the visit by Dr. Ahmed Al-Mohammadi, Assistant Minister for Strategic Planning and Follow-up and Supervisor of the Central Administration for the Affairs of the Minister’s Office.

During the tour, Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif inspected the “Rawdat Omar Al Shazly Primary School” in Zaatara, affiliated with the Zarqa Educational Administration, which includes 657 male and female students. During his inspection of the classrooms, the Minister was keen to ensure that the appropriate educational environment was created for students and teachers, and to follow up on the level of academic achievement of students and the level of students in reading and writing, directing the intensification of remedial programs for students with poor reading and writing in the school to improve their level of reading and writing, and to follow up on the level of the school after two weeks.

The Minister also visited the “Dr. Assem Abdel Haq Al-Omari Joint Preparatory School” in the Zarqa Educational Administration, which includes 447 male and female students. During his inspection of the classes, he was keen to monitor the level of the students in the Arabic language and the first foreign language subjects. He praised the level of the students and the educational role of the teachers in the school. He also praised the level of discipline in the school.

Minister Muhammad Abdel Latif went to the “Imam Nassif Secondary Girls School” in the Zarqa Educational Administration, which includes 1,264 students. During his inspection of the school, the Minister interacted with a number of female students in the first year of secondary school, and listened to their opinions on the extent to which they benefited from the programming and artificial intelligence subject. A large number of female students confirmed that they had completed the educational content on the Japanese “Kerio” platform. They also confirmed that studying this subject contributed to developing their skills and abilities, and expressed their aspiration to obtain the international certificate. Approved by Hiroshima University after completing the TOFAS test, which was what the Minister valued, stressing that learning programming represents one of the basic axes for building the capabilities of the Egyptian student in the digital age, because of the modern thinking skills it provides based on analysis, problem solving and creativity, as well as its role in enhancing students’ abilities to innovate, experiment, and develop logical thinking, and qualify them to compete in the fields of advanced technology, artificial intelligence, and keep pace with global developments.

The Minister stressed that studying this subject contributes to developing students’ patterns of thinking and creativity, and preparing a generation capable of competing in the local and international labor market, especially in the fields of artificial intelligence and advanced technology, in accordance with the latest international standards.

Minister Muhammad Abdel Latif’s tour also included a visit to the “Al-Jumhuriya Joint Primary School” affiliated with the Zarqa Educational Administration, which includes 1,118 male and female students. During his inspection of the classrooms, the Minister was keen to monitor the level of first-grade primary students in reading and writing on the blackboard. He also praised the skills of two female students in reciting poetry.

He also inspected the Nasser Secondary School, affiliated with the Faraskur Educational Administration, which includes 1,004 students. The Minister was keen to inspect the classrooms and follow up on class and assignment notebooks. The Minister also conducted a dialogue with the first-year secondary school students about the importance of studying programming and artificial intelligence, noting that these specializations represent a basic foundation for building the capabilities of young people and qualifying them in the fields of modern technology.

The Minister then went to Al-Hadidi Primary School, administered by Faraskur Education, which includes 614 male and female students. During his inspection of the school, the Minister was keen to ascertain the level of academic achievement of male and female students and their ability to read and write, stressing the importance of developing reading, writing and arithmetic skills in the primary stage, as they are the basic pillars for building the student’s personality and preparing him for the next educational stages.

At the conclusion of his tour, Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif praised the commitment and discipline he witnessed in the governorate’s schools, appreciating in this context the efforts of Mr. Yasser Mahmoud, Director of the Directorate of Education, and all those in charge of the educational process in Damietta, stressing the continuation of achieving discipline and implementing the school discipline regulations with the utmost firmness towards any violations that hinder the progress of the educational process in schools.
