The Greek Minister of Culture visits the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization
The Minister was received by Dr. Al-Tayeb Abbas, CEO of the Museum Authority, who welcomed her and the accompanying delegation, and took them on a comprehensive introductory tour, during which he reviewed the distinguished location of the museum and its history, in addition to its cultural and societal role as one of the most prominent museum edifices in Egypt and the Middle East. He also presented her with a souvenir in appreciation of this visit.

The visit included an inspection tour inside the museum’s various halls, including the Central Exhibition Hall, the Royal Mummies Hall, and the Egyptian Textile Hall, where they viewed the museum’s holdings, which reflect the richness and diversity of Egyptian civilization over thousands of years, starting from prehistoric times all the way to the modern era.

During the tour, the Greek Minister of Culture expressed her great admiration for the museum and the rare archaeological treasures it contains, praising in particular the Hall of Royal Mummies, which she described as an exceptional experience that embodies the nobility of Egyptian civilization. She also appreciated the warm reception and good organization, stressing that the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization embodies Egypt’s pioneering role in preserving its cultural heritage and introducing it at the regional and international levels.

It is worth noting that the Greek Minister of Culture met yesterday with Mr. Sherif Fathi, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, where they discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries in the field of antiquities and museums. She also toured the Grand Egyptian Museum and visited the Giza Pyramids.
