Engineer Ayman Attia held a governorship Qalyubia An expanded meeting with Engineer Muhammad Abu Saada, Head of the National Apparatus for Urban Coordination, in the presence of Dr. Iman Rayan, Deputy Governor, and Dr. Muhammad Fawzi, Assistant Governor for Projects and Investment, Eng. Rami Sabry, Director of the Agency’s Central Projects Department at the Agency’s headquarters in the Administrative Capital. This is to discuss ways of joint cooperation to implement an integrated vision to reshape the cultural landscape and the visual image of the buildings overlooking the ring road within the governorate.

The Governor of Qalyubia meets with the head of the Urban Coordination Authority to discuss the development of the facades overlooking the ring road in Qalyubia Governorate.

The governor stressed that the project comes within the framework of the state’s efforts to enhance the cultural appearance and improve the quality of life, noting that developing the building facades and unifying the color scheme represents a strategic step to restore the civilized face of the governorate, and transform the ring road into a visual axis that reflects the identity of Qalyubia Governorate, and enhances its mental image among citizens, thus contributing to consolidating the feeling of belonging and pride in the governorate’s history and achievements.

Engineer Mohamed Abu Saada, head of the National Apparatus for Urban Coordination, reviewed the comprehensive technical vision of the project, which is based on an integrated concept of urban and architectural coordination of the entrances and exits of the governorate, through the formulation of a visual identity that expresses the strategic components of Qalyubia, which depends on agriculture, industry, and the historical dimension of the governorate, which includes the Charitable Arches and Muhammad Ali Palace, in a way that enhances investment attractiveness and consolidates the positive image of the governorate.
He explained that the project aims to raise the aesthetic and economic value of the properties overlooking the road, in addition to employing some of the facades to implement documentary murals that embody the historical narrative of the governorate, adding a cultural and tourism dimension.
The meeting also discussed the proposal to implement noise barriers, in order to achieve a balance between the environmental and aesthetic dimensions. The head of the agency explained that these barriers will be used as design elements carrying logos and audio and visual messages that express the identity of each station, thus enhancing visual integration along the route.

The meeting witnessed a review of the proposal to divide the road into stations for the visual chain of facades, so that each station reflects an aspect of the identity of the governorate, as one station deals with the industrial leadership of Qalyubia, especially the glass, crystal, textile and plastic industries, while another station highlights the ancient agricultural heritage through distinctive crops such as citrus fruits, strawberries and apricots, in addition to a station that reflects the scientific and technological character of the city of Benha as the capital of electronics and education, as well as a station that embodies the historical value of the Charitable Arches as a cultural symbol that represents a gateway. The head of the agency indicated that the implementation stages will begin with a comprehensive survey and monitoring of all buildings overlooking the road and classifying their condition, followed by implementing a pilot model in one of the sectors to measure the impact and evaluate the results before generalization, in parallel with community awareness campaigns to ensure effective participation and preservation of what is accomplished, while setting clear design standards and a legal mechanism that guarantees periodic maintenance of the facades every 3 to 5 years, in a way that ensures the sustainability of the urban pattern and the formulation of the public space.

At the conclusion of the meeting, it was agreed to continue coordination between the governorate and the National Authority for Urban Coordination to set a specific timetable to begin implementation, which will contribute to creating a qualitative shift in the cultural appearance of Qalyubia Governorate, and transform the ring road into an integrated model for sustainable urban development.
