Farouk Jaafar, the former Egyptian football star, confirmed that the Egyptian national team was able to resolve its match against Kuwait within the first 20 minutes, had it not been for the waste of superiority and the team’s control without translating it into goals.
The Egyptian national team tied with Kuwait, 1-1, in the match that brought them together yesterday, Tuesday, in the first round of the Arab Cup tournament.
Jaafar said during his hosting of the program “Ya Masa Al-Anwar” with the journalist Medhat Shalaby on MBC Misr 2: “The Egyptian national team was able to decide the match against Kuwait in the first 20 minutes.”
He added: “The team started the match in an organized manner and was the most dangerous, but they did not know how to take advantage of this to end the match early.”
He continued: “The Kuwaiti team entered the atmosphere after the first 20 minutes, and remained a match for Egypt throughout the 90 minutes.”
The former Zamalek star concluded his statements by saying: “Captain Helmy Toulan must discover the factors that affected the team and made it equalize. Akram Tawfiq is able to receive and deliver well, but he is not able to create offensive opportunities.”
