Lieutenant General Kamel Al-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister, revealed this Minister of Industry And transportation, the state’s efforts to restart troubled factories and support the industrial sector, stressing that the government faced major challenges in this file during the recent period.
Kamel Al-Wazir: Restarting more than 2,000 faltering factories as part of an urgent plan to save the industry
The minister indicated during television statements that the number of troubled factories reached about 7 thousand factories, in addition to 4 thousand factories that have not yet started their activities, explaining that the state has developed an urgent plan to restart the stalled factories and support projects that are ready to work.
Kamel Al-Wazir explained that the government has already succeeded in restarting more than two thousand factories from among the stopped factories, after addressing the financing, administrative and technical problems that were hindering their return to production.
He pointed out that among the factories that were restarted was a large iron and steel factory, which strengthens the industrial supply chain and supports the state’s plans to increase local production and reduce dependence on imports.
The Minister stressed that work is continuing to complete the operation of the remaining factories and support investors, in implementation of the directives of the political leadership to strengthen the local industry as the engine of economic development.
