Regragui reveals the reason for canceling the press conference to announce Morocco’s roster for the African Cup

Regragui said that time pressure was the main motivation behind this decision, explaining: “We are in a race against time, and there will be a lot of talk during the tournament… now what is important is action.”

The Moroccan coach stressed that choosing the final list was not a hasty step or related to the current stage, but rather came as a result of long and continuous work that extended for more than a year and a half, since the end of the team’s journey in the World Cup and then the last African Cup in Côte d’Ivoire, adding that choosing the list was not a spur-of-the-moment decision, but rather the result of work that lasted for more than a year and a half.

Regragui stressed that the team’s strategy during preparation was clear from the beginning, as he said: “We built a strong and homogeneous group. The players know our playing style, our life within the team, and the pressure of competition. We relied on readiness, experience, and harmony.”

The Moroccan national team is preparing to compete in the tournament as one of the most prominent candidates for the title, as it plays in the first group alongside the teams of Mali, Zambia and the Comoros, in a group described as strong and equal.

Regragui confirms through his statements that the full focus is on work and technical preparation, at a time when the Moroccan public is awaiting the list of players and the ambitions of the national team on its home soil.
