A source close to the player revealed Muhammad Awad, The truth about what was reported during the past hours regarding the imposition of a penalty on the goalkeeper of the first football team at Zamalek Club, after he was excluded from facing Kaizer Chiefs in the African Confederation Championship.

The source confirmed in exclusive statements to Cairo 24 that everything that was raised about imposing a penalty on the player is incorrect, noting that Awad did not receive any official or verbal notification of the existence of penalties against him following the exclusion decision.

The source added that Awad’s exclusion from the match was not accompanied by any crises on his part, and there are no reasons to impose a penalty on him, especially since he did not commit any violation that would require it.

He explained that Awad dealt with the decision with complete professionalism, and did not issue any statements or actions that harmed the technical staff or the club, whether before or after the match. The player also committed himself naturally to the team’s delegation until he left to join the camp of the Egyptian national team participating in the Arab Cup tournament.

The source pointed out that the recent statements of Abdel Nasser Mohamed, the club’s director of football, in which he indicated that a penalty had been imposed on one of the players, were misunderstood, stressing that the penalty belonged to another player and not Mohamed Awad, and that the latter had not committed any mistake within the team.

The source concluded his statements by emphasizing that Awad is proceeding in a disciplined manner within the team, and that there are no crises concerning the player during the current period, explaining that talk about imposing sanctions on him is baseless and only aims to raise controversy about the goalkeeper’s future within Zamalek.
