Major General Tariq Rashid, Governor of Sohag, announced the supply of 3,322 tons and 299 kilograms of local wheat to barns and silos throughout the governorate, since the start of the supply season on April 15 until now, confirming the regularity of work progress without any obstacles.

The governor stressed on the concerned authorities the need to facilitate the movement of wheat transportation and supply, and work to remove any obstacles facing farmers, with the rapid disbursement of financial dues to suppliers, and the continuous intensification of follow-up and control work to ensure transparency and prevent manipulation.
He pointed out that the operations room at the governorate’s general office, in coordination with the competent committee, follows up around the clock the operations of receiving wheat at all storage sites, while conducting the necessary checks to ensure the quality of the quantities supplied, pointing out that 26 tons that do not meet the specifications have been rejected so far.
The governor explained that the total areas planted with wheat this year amounted to about 199,000 acres in various centers of Sohag, with 15 storage sites prepared to receive the crop, and specialized committees formed for receiving work.

He added that the price of ardeb wheat was determined according to the degree of purity, reaching 2,500 pounds for grade 23.5, 2,450 pounds for grade 23, and 2,400 pounds for grade 22.5, as part of the state’s support for farmers and encouraging them to increase supply.
