Acting President of Venezuela, Delcy Rodriguez, commented on the White House’s statements following the attack on Caracas, and the threats of US President Donald Trump that his country will manage its country’s affairs and that she will meet the same fate as her predecessor Nicolas Maduro if it does not comply with Washington’s decisions.
Delcy Rodriguez, Interim President of Venezuela
Rodriguez said in a strong speech on Venezuelan state television: Venezuela has shown the world its true nature… We have increased in strength and spiritual maturity to face challenges, attacks and threats.
In her speech, Delcy Rodriguez, the interim president of Venezuela, gave a strong response to the American threats, saying: My fate is in the hands of God… No one from the outside manages the internal affairs of Venezuela… and we are a people who do not surrender.
She continued: We have integrated and govern side by side with the people.. The Venezuelan government is governed by its constitutional government; There are no outsiders ruling Venezuela.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump threatened on Sunday that acting Venezuelan President Delcy Rodriguez may pay a very high price if she continues to refuse to cooperate with the United States.
If you don’t do the right thing, you’ll pay a heavy price, perhaps greater than Maduro’s, Trump said in a phone interview with The Atlantic.
In the same context, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said in another media interview on Sunday morning that Trump will keep all options open regarding how to manage Venezuela, and will evaluate whether the country’s interim leadership is capable of making the right decisions, and will not rule out an American military presence in the country in the future.
US forces arrested Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro on Saturday, and he is now in custody in New York to appear in court on drug-related charges on Monday.
