Counselor Turki Al-Sheikh ascended the stage of the “Joy Awards” ceremony this year, and kissed the head of former Minister of Culture Farouk Hosni, who received the Lifetime Achievement Award, as he handed him the award, saying: “The award honors you.”
Farouk Hosni affirmed: “I am pleased and honored to extend my sincere thanks to Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and to Counselor Turki Al-Sheikh, for this generous honor, which I am very proud of. This honor reflects the leadership’s awareness of the importance of culture as a basic pillar, and I wish all success and prosperity to the Kingdom and its great people under its conscious leadership.”
The ceremony witnessed the honoring of a number of international artistic and sports figures, including: composer Amr Mostafa, Emirati artist Ahlam, American actor Forest Whitaker, British actress and model Millie Bobby Brown, American actor and producer Jeremy Renner, Kuwaiti director Ahmed Al-Dougji, Qatari businessman Nasser Al-Khelaifi, president of Paris Saint-Germain, in addition to Saudi presenter Saleh Al-Arrayed.
