The Cabinet Media Center published a number of infographics on its social media platforms, during which it reviewed the most prominent activities of Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, during the current week from January 10 to 16, 2026, which included meetings, meetings, openings, and follow-up of vital projects.

The activities included a field tour conducted by the Prime Minister, to inspect the work of establishing and raising the efficiency of a number of health facilities in Cairo and Giza governorates, during which he stressed that the health file occupies a top priority on the government’s work agenda in implementation of the directives of His Excellency the President of the Republic. It was noted that the state has implemented more than 1,255 huge health projects in the period from 2014 to 2025, with investments exceeding 222 billion pounds.
During the tour, he inspected the Dar es Salaam Oncology Hospital (formerly Hermel), and the developments in the executive position of the project to establish the new Boulak Abu El-Ela General Hospital, in addition to following up on the executive position of the Nile Medical City development project (Nasser Institute), and the developments in the development work of the “Umm Al-Masryeen General Hospital” in Giza.
The Prime Minister witnessed the signing of agreements and contracts to establish two integrated projects in the field of renewable energy and manufacture its components locally with investments exceeding $1.8 billion, noting that the localization of industries related to renewable energy is an essential pillar for enhancing energy security and the green transformation, and that attracting such investments reflects the confidence of international companies in the investment climate.
The Prime Minister also conducted an extensive tour to open new industrial and logistical projects in the Suez Canal Economy, most notably the opening of the “Elite Solar” factory complex for solar energy technology in the Sokhna Industrial Zone, with investments of $116 million.
During the tour, His Excellency inaugurated the “Campstone” project for advanced industries in the Sokhna Industrial Zone with investments of $8 million, as the first factory in Egypt to produce high-quality “SPC” flooring, in addition to the new expansions of the “Kadmar International” logistics center with investments of $24 million.
The Prime Minister inaugurated the first phase of the “Obelisk Solar Electricity Generation” project in Nag Hammadi, with investments of $600 million, and a capacity of 500 megawatts, in addition to 200 megawatt-hours of battery energy storage systems. It was developed and constructed by the Norwegian company “Scatec”, with a total capacity of 1,000 megawatts.
During the opening, it was noted that the project was implemented within a record period not exceeding 13 months since the signing of the power purchase agreement, which reflects the efficiency of implementation and speed of completion. The renewable energy project is the largest in Africa, as it is being built on an area exceeding 20 square kilometers. It is also the first project in the Republic to combine renewable energy production with battery energy storage systems.
The Prime Minister also inspected the new “wire” production line at Misr Aluminum Company with a capacity of 60 thousand tons annually, and stressed that the development of “Egypt Aluminum” comes in implementation of the directives of the political leadership to modernize the industrial castles affiliated with the public business sector. It was noted that the new production line doubles the company’s production of “aluminum wire” to 120 thousand tons annually, and represents an important step to enhance added value and support the national industry.
The activities included: Dr. Mostafa Madbouly held a meeting to follow up on the implementation status of the green hydrogen production project with a capacity of 100 megawatts in the industrial zone of Ain Sokhna, which is being implemented through the Norwegian company “Scatec”, where he praised the existing partnership between the government and “Scatec”, which over the past period has achieved remarkable success and progress in renewable energy projects in the Egyptian market, and noted that there are ongoing discussions to examine the possibility of increasing the proportion of the renewable energy component in the energy mix to more than 42% by the year 2030, in light of receiving many requests for investment in Egypt in this promising sector.
The Prime Minister also held a meeting to follow up on the issue of assessing the economic cost of the number of refugees and migrants residing in Egypt, during which he stressed the importance of following up on relevant efforts in cooperation with international organizations to obtain the necessary support for refugees residing in Egypt. Especially in light of the services provided by the government to these guests residing in the country.
His Excellency noted the efforts made by the concerned authorities during the past period to monitor the burdens placed on the Egyptian state in order to provide the necessary care to guests residing in Egypt.
The Prime Minister also witnessed the Social Housing Fund’s celebration of the achievements of the presidential initiative “Housing for All Egyptians” over 10 years and obtaining the “EDGE ADVANCED” certificate from the International Finance Corporation. He gave a speech in which he expressed all thanks and appreciation to His Excellency the President of the Republic, who adopted, followed and is still following up on the implementation of this project. He pointed out that “Housing for All Egyptians” is the first barrier to confront random growth and encroachment on agricultural lands.
During the celebration, it was noted that more than 790,000 housing units for low-income people have been implemented, and there are 242,000 units currently in various implementation stages, in addition to 40,000 units being offered as part of the latest announcements that have been implemented.
Dr. Mostafa Madbouly witnessed the start of commercial operation of the Red Sea Container Handling Terminal No. 1 (RSCT) in Sokhna Port, stressing that it is an important day in the history of Egyptian ports that the state is keen to develop with the aim of transforming Egypt into a regional center for transport, logistics and transit trade in accordance with the directives of His Excellency the President of the Republic.
He also inspected the container handling station, and witnessed the arrival of the ship “CMA CGM IRON” coming from the port of Beirut with 13,000 containers on board, in a step that represents a milestone in the port’s development process.
Dr. Mostafa Madbouly witnessed the signing of the agreement for the “Rixos and Rixos Living – World Trade Center in Cairo” project, stressing that the implementation of this prominent project with a global partner in the field of hospitality enhances the state’s efforts to benefit from the promising components of the central Cairo area and exploit its attractions to push tourism.
The project is scheduled to open in phases starting in 2027, to be the first Rixos property in the heart of the Egyptian capital. The project will be built across two towers, with the southern tower being entirely dedicated to Rixos Living, while the northern tower will include hotel rooms along with a group of hotel apartments.
The Prime Minister chaired the general assembly meeting of the “Sovereign Fund of Egypt,” and during the meeting it was noted that the fund witnessed an actual growth of more than 90% in the asset portfolio during the period from 2023 to 2025.
The Fund’s budgets and financial statements were also approved, as well as the dividend distribution policy for state-owned companies whose ownership is transferred to the Fund, and the dividend distribution policy proposed by the Fund’s Board of Directors to distribute 50% of the profits of these companies to the state’s public treasury was approved.
