Dr. Ahmed Refaat, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Matrouh Governorate, decided to refer nursing supervisors in the internal care departments and nurseries at Matrouh General Hospital to investigation, against the backdrop of weak supervision and follow-up within the departments.
This came during a surprise visit by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health to the hospital, to monitor the level of administrative and technical performance and discipline, and to determine the quality of medical services provided to patients.
During the tour, the Undersecretary made a number of observations related to negligence in supervision and lack of full compliance with the standards regulating work, which necessitated taking immediate measures, including referring those who were negligent to investigation, in implementation of the principle of accountability and not tolerating any negligence that affects the safety of patients.
Dr. Ahmed Refaat confirmed that surprise tours are continuing in all health facilities at the governorate level, stressing that discipline and professional commitment are a red line, and that any negligence will not be tolerated, while working at the same time to support committed medical teams and improve the work environment within hospitals.
