The reason for the disappearance of some types of vegetables
Naguib added in a statement to Cairo 24 that grape leaves, okra, and a number of summer crops are expected to be put on the market by the end of next March, indicating that prices may witness a relative rise at the beginning of the decline as a result of the lack of supply, and that they will begin to decline gradually with increased production and the pumping of larger quantities into the markets.
The Deputy Head of the Division confirmed that vegetables and fruits are currently available in large quantities, and that there are no crises or shortages in any product, pointing out that prices are likely to decrease by up to 30% compared to previous prices, with the supply remaining stable.
In another context, the prices of vegetables and fruits in the Obour Wholesale Trade Market witnessed a state of variation at the beginning of today’s trading, compared to the levels recorded during the past days, amid slight differences in prices between the different items.
This variation in prices coincides with the movement in the supply of agricultural commodities and the volume of demand, according to the prices announced on the official website of the Obour Market, which reflect the daily trading averages within the market.

The price of tomatoes ranged between 5.5 and 12.5 pounds.
While potatoes recorded from 5 to 9 pounds.
White onions score from 5 to 8 pounds.
The price of zucchini ranged between 5 and 10 pounds.
Local eggplants range from 8 to 12 pounds.
The price of local bell peppers ranged between 18 and 22 pounds.
Local hot peppers range from 11 to 17 pounds.
The price of greenhouse cucumbers ranged between 14 and 16 pounds.

The price of local oranges ranged from 9 to 13 pounds.
While the price of local lemons ranged between 13 and 17 pounds.
