The security services arrested the accused, L.S., for insulting and defaming the artist Mohamed Nour, in implementation of a ruling issued by the Cairo Economic Court, which ruled that she be imprisoned for 3 months, and fined her 20 thousand pounds as temporary civil compensation, against the backdrop of her accusation of insulting him and defaming him on social media sites.

The Cairo Economic Court convicted the accused of making insulting, slanderous and offensive accusations against the artist Mohamed Nour, in addition to mocking his songs and defaming him publicly, which would undermine his reputation and person in front of his fans.
Lawyer Abdullah Mansour, the lawyer of the artist Mohamed Nour, said in exclusive statements to Cairo 24 that the accused’s actions in the beginning raised doubts about her psychological state, but investigations proved that her real motive was to seek fame and ride the trend at the expense of an artistic name that has its own history and respect.
He added that the artist Mohamed Nour cordially warned the accused more than once of the need to stop her abusive actions, but she insisted on continuing the attack and taunts without any consideration for her family or the legal responsibility that might result from that.
The case papers revealed that the accused, on a date prior to filing the report at the Omraniya Police Department, slandered the victim with public statements that included accusations that, if proven true, would have led to his legal punishment or contempt among his countrymen, in addition to her intentionally disturbing and harassing him by misusing means of communications.
Investigations also showed that the accused sent text messages to the artist Mohamed Nour that included insulting expressions that insulted his reputation, in addition to corresponding with some of his friends and others in his surroundings, which negatively affected his popularity and caused him serious psychological and moral damage.
Investigations by the General Administration of Information Technology confirmed the authenticity of the incident, and that the account used to commit offensive acts via social media sites belonged to the accused, Lubna. p.
The referral order stated that the incident constitutes an economic misdemeanor punishable in accordance with Articles 166 bis, 302/1, 303/1, 306, 308 bis/1 of the Penal Code, and Article 76/2 of Law No. 10 of 2003 regarding Telecommunications Regulation.
