The General Authority announced For planning Al-Omrani, headed by Dr. Engineer Yasser Helmy, Chairman of the Board of Directors, announced the launch of the work of preparing the strategic plan for urban development for the Suez Governorate, within the framework of the activities of the Sustainable Spatial Development Project S-SpaD 2030.
The Authority held the first meeting for the project at its headquarters in the New Capital, where the Chairman of the Authority reviewed the importance of the project in supporting the development of priority areas, especially the Suez Canal axis, and the most important national guidelines and the environmental, social, economic and urban dimensions that must be taken into account in the process of preparing the plan, stressing the importance of the participation of all development partners in all stages of preparing the plan.
Development road map for the governorate
Engineer Mona Salah, Director of the General Administration for Planning and Development of the Northern Regions of the Republic, and Dr. Randa Galal, Head of the Project Work Team, reviewed the work methodology, follow-up and review mechanisms, the role of the Suez Governorate at the national and regional levels, sectoral visions and the development roadmap for the governorate.
The meeting witnessed the presence of Engineer Nelly Helmy, Head of the Central Administration for Infrastructure Structures, Madiha Mahmoud, Executive Director of the Sustainable Spatial Development Project, and a number of the Authority’s general directors, along with an elite group of experts and consultants in the fields of infrastructure, environment, strategic environmental assessment, population, services, economics, and geographical information systems, as well as representatives of the Environmental Affairs Agency.
