Cairo 24 obtained the text of an order to refer a science teacher in a primary school to the Criminal Court in Minya Governorate, accusing him of assaulting a girl who had not yet reached the age of 18, inside his residence in the East Samalout Police Station.

Referring a teacher to criminal trial

The referral order issued by the Public Prosecution stated that the accused, during the month of August 2025, assaulted the victim while she was inside his home to receive a private lesson, taking advantage of her young age, as stated in the investigation papers.

The case papers added that the Public Prosecution charged the accused with committing a crime, and decided to refer him to the competent criminal court, to punish him in accordance with the charging articles contained in the referral order.

According to the referral order in Case No. 3189 of 2025, North Minya College, the accused is a first science teacher in an elementary school, and the Public Prosecution charged him with the fact that during the month of August 2025, he assaulted her by force, while she was at his residence to receive lessons.

The case papers indicated that the victim was frequenting the defendant’s residence to receive lessons, as he was her primary school teacher, and he took advantage of her presence alone and assaulted her, as indicated in the investigations.

The referral order added that the accused, according to what the prosecution attributed to him, did not take into account the young girl’s age, and committed the incident as stated in the victim’s statements, and what resulted from the investigations.

The Public Prosecution charged the accused with committing the crime punishable by Article 268 of the Penal Code, and Articles 2 and 116 bis of Law No. 12 of 1996, amended by Law No. 126 of 2008 regarding the Children’s Law.

The Public Prosecution ended by referring the accused to the competent criminal court to punish him in accordance with the articles of accusation contained in the referral order, attaching his criminal status report and notifying the person responsible for defending him.
